Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source for a wide range of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, and winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing). Each SS Series strip heater includes two offset bolt-type terminals for easy installation and secure mounting holes for wall housing. These heaters can be controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater surface. Special order options include lead wires extending from one end of the strip heater for enhanced flexibility during installation, along with consideration for the operating temperature to select appropriately rated wire insulation. The heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath, providing corrosion resistance and a pleasing appearance, with a maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are available.
