Caloritech™ SD series radiant strip heaters and component heaters, featuring opposite end terminals, serve as a versatile and economical heating source suitable for various applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens), and winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts). The FS series finned strip heaters are equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals at one end. These heaters can be easily controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats that can be installed on the heater's surface. Mounting holes allow for secure installation on wall housings, with the terminal extending from the sheath for convenient electrical connections. Special orders are available for lead wires to extend from one end, facilitating flexible installation. It is important to consider the operating temperature, which is application-dependent, in order to select wire with an appropriate temperature rating for the insulation jacket. The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath that provides both corrosion resistance and an attractive finish, suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature not exceeding 1000°F (538°C); for higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters should be utilized.
