Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and are designed as a versatile and economical heating source for a variety of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). Each SS Series strip heater includes two offset bolt-type terminals, and they can be effectively controlled using heating control panels, mechanical thermostats, or economical bi-metal thermostats that can be surface-mounted. The heaters come with mounting holes for secure wall installation, and optional lead wires can be requested for extended flexibility in installation. The strip heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath compressed under high pressure, ensuring both corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal, suitable for applications with maximum sheath temperatures up to 1000°F (538°C). If elevated temperatures are expected, stainless steel heaters are recommended.
