Calorique™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters, designed with offset terminals at one end, serve as a versatile and economical heating source for a variety of applications such as surface heating (including platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping), process air heating (e.g., drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, and moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors in railroads and load banks, winterizing (for hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, and thawing), and original equipment (such as air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, and drying equipment). Each strip heater features two offset bolt-type terminals and can be effectively controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats that are cost-effective and surface-mounted. The design includes mounting holes for secure wall mounting and a terminal extending from the sheath for convenient electrical connections. Special orders can accommodate lead wires extending from one end to enhance installation flexibility, with attention to operating temperature for selecting suitable wire insulation. The heater is encased in an aluminized steel sheath, providing resistance to corrosion and an appealing appearance, with a maximum sheath temperature rating of 1000°F (538°C). Should higher temperatures be expected, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The installation process ensures compatibility with various applications and configurations.
