Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source suitable for various applications, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; process air heating in drying cabinets and ovens; dropping resistors for railroads and load banks; winterizing applications; and original equipment in air conditioning and laboratory settings. Each SS series strip heater includes two offset bolt-type terminals, allowing for easy control via a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats that can be installed on the heater's surface. The heaters come with mounting holes for secure wall installation, and special orders can provide lead wires extending from one end for flexible installation. The operating temperature, which is application-dependent, is crucial for selecting wire with a suitable temperature rating on the insulation jacket. These heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath, providing corrosion resistance and an appealing appearance, and are suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C); for higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended.
