Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters, featuring offset terminals at one end, serve as a versatile and economical heating solution applicable in various environments, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, and tanks; process air heating for drying cabinets, ovens, and vacuum dehydrating ovens; as dropping resistors for railroads and load banks; and for winterizing hoppers, conveyors, and ducts. Each SS series strip heater is equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals, and can be effectively controlled via a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed directly on the heater's surface. The design includes mounting holes for secure wall housing installation, with a terminal extending from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. For enhanced flexibility, special order lead wires are available for installation that can adapt to specific configurations, necessitating knowledge of the operating temperature to choose appropriate wire insulation ratings. The heater assembly is encased in a stainless steel sheath, which is compressed under high pressure, providing both corrosion resistance and a polished finish. These stainless steel strip heaters are rated for maximum sheath temperatures up to 1000°F (538°C). Installation considerations must be accounted for to ensure optimal performance.
