Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source for various applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for railroads and load banks, winterizing applications (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). The SS Series strip heaters come with two bolt-type terminals and can be controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats mounted on the heater's surface. They include mounting holes for secure installation and electrical connections. Special order options allow for lead wires to extend from one end of the strip heater, enhancing installation flexibility to meet specific configurations. The operating temperature is application-dependent, necessitating the selection of wires with suitable temperature ratings for the insulation jacket. The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath that provides corrosion resistance and an aesthetically pleasing appearance, suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters should be utilized. The dimensions and specifications of the heater can be tailored based on specific requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications.
