Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source for a wide range of applications, including surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). Each SS series strip heater includes two offset bolt-type terminals for secure electrical connections and can be easily controlled with a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the surface. The heaters feature mounting holes for secure installation, and special order lead wires can extend from one end of the strip heater for flexible installation. The operating temperature must be specified to select the appropriate wire insulation jacket. The stainless steel sheath encasing the heater assembly provides corrosion resistance and an appealing appearance, suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C). For anticipated higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The kit includes the strip heater with offset terminals, installation hardware, and an optional special order for lead wires.
