The Edwards 879DEX series features diode polarized heavy-duty high decibel vibrating horn signals designed for use in hazardous locations requiring electrical supervision of signaling circuit field wiring. Constructed with a corrosion-resistant heat flowed epoxy finish and low current drain, these horns are suitable for non-fire alarm applications and boast a NEMA type 4X rating, allowing for outdoor installation recommended above temperatures of +25°F. The kit includes two mounting brackets for wall mounting and the housing is tapped on one side for 3/4" (19mm) conduit, facilitating field wiring installation. These horns are specifically designed for dusty hazardous atmospheres where a distinctive urgent signal is necessary, making them ideal for applications in mines, petroleum plants, gas plants, grain elevators, flour mills, paper mills, textile plants, and tankers.
