The Universal Adaptaplate is designed for direct mounting on a surface or electrical box, and it can be weatherproofed by incorporating an appropriate back box. It comes fully assembled with all necessary hardware included. The unit features a shockproof die-cast housing that is dustproof, ensuring durability in various environments. It utilizes AC vibrating bells to produce a long continuous ringing sound, with a striker that strikes the gong in rapid-fire action as long as current is applied. The Universal Adaptaplate can be mounted on any single-gang box with dimensions of 3 1/4" (83 mm), 3 1/2" (89 mm), or 4" (102 mm) octagon box, as well as any plaster cover with mounting holes on 2 3/4" (70 mm) centers. Bells measuring 6" (152 mm) and 10" (254 mm) can be mounted on 4" (102 mm) square boxes. This product is specified for various applications including timing, scheduling, paging, and general alarm purposes. The 4" (102 mm) size is recommended for quiet office environments, the 6" (152 mm) size for moderate noise levels such as general factory areas, and the 10" (254 mm) size for loud environments like heavy machine shops. The Adaptaplate is also available with full cast grids and protective grilles and may be weatherproofed with the addition of a weatherproof box, with options available through the Adaptabel accessories.
