The Edwards fire alarm bells, available in 6" (152 mm), 8" (203 mm), and 7" (254 mm) gong sizes, feature heavy-duty die-cast housing and a rugged, compact mechanism suitable for outdoor use when paired with the optional Edwards Cat No. 449 weatherproof back box. These diode polarized, vibrating bells are specifically designed for integration with fire alarm control equipment, producing a loud, resonant tone essential for fire alarm systems. The gongs are crafted from select alloy steel and are finished in epoxy powder-coated red. The supplied mounting plate allows for direct installation on surfaces or on any single gang box, as well as on 3 1/2" (89 mm) or 4" (72 mm) octagon, or 4" (72 mm) square electrical boxes. The 438D and 439D models serve as audible signaling appliances that operate alongside an installed fire alarm panel and detection devices.
