The Edwards Fire Alarm bells feature gong sizes of 6" (152 mm), 8" (203 mm), and 7" (254 mm), with a heavy-duty die-cast housing and a rugged, compact mechanism. These diode polarized, vibrating bells are designed specifically for use with fire alarm control equipment and are rated for outdoor use when paired with an optional back box. The gongs are constructed of select alloy steel to produce the loud, resonant tone necessary for fire alarm systems, and the finish is an epoxy powder-coated red. The included mounting plate allows for direct surface installation or installation on any single gang box, as well as on 3 1/2" (89 mm) or 4" (102 mm) octagon or 4" (102 mm) square electrical boxes. For outdoor installations, the bells can be used with the Edwards Cat No. 449 weatherproof back box. The 438D and 439D models serve as audible signaling appliances that operate in conjunction with an installed fire alarm panel and detection devices.
