The Proto® 3/8" drive impact socket is a 13 mm, 6-point socket, measuring 1-3/32" in length. Designed specifically for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials, this socket features the TorquePlus™ design, which is a high-performance drive configuration allowing quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The radius-corner design of the TorquePlus™ configuration shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fastener, effectively distributing stress over a larger surface area of the socket and minimizing slippage. This internal design not only reduces the risk of rounding fasteners but also extends their lifespan and facilitates the turning of worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners. For easy identification, the socket size is stamped on the tool, and it includes a side locking hole.
