The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket is a 30 mm, 6 point, and 2" long tool designed for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners as well as fasteners made from soft materials. This socket features the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that allows for quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The configuration utilizes a radius-corner design that shifts contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, distributing contact stresses over a large area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design reduces fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and facilitates the turning of worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
