The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket is designed for tough applications, featuring a 20 mm size and a 6-point configuration with a length of 1-5/8". This socket is well-suited for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners as well as fasteners crafted from softer materials. It incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, which offers a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The configuration employs a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to reduce slippage. This innovative internal design minimizes the risk of fastener rounding, extends the lifespan of fasteners, and enhances the user’s ability to turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners with ease.
