The PROTO® 3/8" drive deep impact socket 17 mm is a 6-point socket measuring 2-3/4" long, designed for use on stubborn, damaged, or soft material fasteners. It features the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that allows quick and easy socket engagement with fastener flats instead of corners. This design employs a radius-corner configuration that shifts contact area and stress away from fastener corners, distributing stress over a large area of the socket to minimize slippage. The TorquePlus™ internal design reduces fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and facilitates turning worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners. The size is stamped on the tool for easy identification, and it includes a side locking hole for secure attachment.
