The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket, measuring 18 mm and featuring a 6 point design, is 1-1/2" long and is specifically engineered for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as fasteners made from soft materials. This socket incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that enables quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The TorquePlus™ configuration uses a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket and minimizing slippage. Furthermore, the TorquePlus™ internal design reduces the risk of fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and facilitates easier turning of worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
