The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket is a 36 mm, 6-point socket that measures 2" in length. Designed for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as fasteners made from soft materials, its TorquePlus™ design features a high-performance drive configuration that enables quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. This configuration incorporates a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. The internal design of TorquePlus™ also helps to prevent fastener rounding, enhances fastener longevity, and allows users to more easily turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
