The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket, measuring 1-1/8" with a length of 2", features a 6-point design that is particularly effective for stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. This socket incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that enables quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The TorquePlus™ configuration utilizes a radius-corner design, which shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fastener, thereby distributing contact stresses over a more significant area of the socket and minimizing slippage. Additionally, the internal design of the TorquePlus™ system reduces the rounding of fasteners, extends their life, and facilitates the turning of worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
