The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket, measuring 15/16" with a length of 1-3/4", features a 6-point design that is particularly effective for dealing with stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. Its TorquePlus™ design offers a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy socket engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. This configuration utilizes a radius-corner design, which shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, thereby distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket and minimizing slippage. Furthermore, the TorquePlus™ internal design helps reduce fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and allows users to more easily turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
