Penco's heavy-duty pallet racks are engineered for efficient storage of palletized items, constructed from high-strength steel to provide a superior strength-to-weight ratio. The basic components consist of upright frames and beams, which are manufactured to precise tolerances for dependable service at their rated loads. The racks feature a slotted design for easy installation and adjustment on 3-inch centers, with safety lock tabs that prevent beam dislodging. Standard beam ends are crafted from extra heavy gauge steel, utilizing a three-prong connection that ensures beam-to-post alignment over an 8-1/2-inch length, promoting uniform load distribution. Protective tabs along the beam face enhance prong safety during transit and installation. A unique recessed safety key, also made from heavy gauge steel, engages a slot in the post and supports an upward force from material handling equipment up to 1,000 pounds; it is easily engaged without tools and is designed for visibility during safety checks. The step-down design of the beams accommodates accessories, available in two step sizes: 7/8 inch and 1-5/8 inches high, while the heavy-duty beam end connectors further enhance structural integrity with their robust construction.
