Penco's heavy-duty pallet racks are engineered for efficient storage of palletized items, utilizing high-strength steel for a superior strength-to-weight ratio. The basic components include upright frames and beams, both manufactured to precise tolerances for dependable service at rated loads. The slotted design allows for easy installation and adjustment on 3" centers, while the safety lock tab prevents beam dislodging. Standard beam ends are constructed from extra heavy gauge steel and feature a three-prong connection that ensures positive beam-to-post alignment over an 8-1/2" length, providing uniform load distribution. Additionally, tabs along the face of the beam protect the prongs during transit and installation. Each beam includes a unique recessed safety key made from heavy gauge steel, engaging a slot in the post to resist upward forces from material handling equipment up to 1,000 pounds; this safety feature is integral to the beam assembly, easily engaged without tools, and visible for safety checks. The step-down design on all beams accommodates accessories with two step sizes available: 7/8" and 1-5/8" high.
