The Basic Mounting Kit (BMK) is designed for use with a 20" frame and is suitable for applications where the support arm can be bolted or welded directly to structural steel or concrete. The mounting kit is constructed from steel with wet-applied enamel paint and is capable of supporting a maximum suspended weight of 300 lbs (136 kg). It is important to note that this kit is not compatible with models HP 30, FR 30, HP 36, FR 36, or the Tandem AH series (24B fan configuration). While Ruffneck™ unit heaters are intended for installation in an upright and level position, alternative orientations are possible, with the stipulation that for steam service, the inlet must be above the outlet and the bottom of the core must drain toward the outlet. The heaters can be suspended from the top of the cabinet using either two or four 5/8" NC bolts, depending on the model, which screw into internally threaded holes in the cabinet top panel. Adequate structural support is crucial for installation, and in circumstances where the strength of the structure is inadequate, alternative solutions such as the Ruffneck™ pipe mounting kit (PMK) should be utilized to ensure safe operation. For the 30" and 36" heater models, the Hanging Mounting Kit (HMK) is the only suitable option. Heaters should be mounted at a reasonable height above floor level, taking into account applications that may be relocatable or transportable, such as land or offshore drilling rigs, where mounting structures must be capable of withstanding probable load conditions, including potential impacts during transport, and it is advisable to use lock washers beneath the bolt heads for these installations.
