The Pipe Mounting Kit (PMK) is designed for a 16" frame, specifically useful in buildings lacking sufficient structural strength for alternative mounting options. It requires a 3" (76 mm) pipe with a 3" / 89 mm outer diameter, which is not included. Made of steel and coated with wet-applied enamel paint, this kit can support a suspended weight of up to 300 lbs (136 kg) but is not suitable for models HP 30, FR 30, HP 36, FR 36, or the Tandem AH series (24B fan configuration). While Ruffneck™ unit heaters are intended for level and upright installation, they can be installed in other orientations; however, for steam service, the inlet must remain above the outlet, and the core's bottom should drain toward the outlet. The installation involves suspending the heater from the cabinet's top with either two or four 5/8" NC bolts, depending on the model, using the internally threaded holes provided. Adequate structural support is crucial, and various mounting kit options are available, including Basic Mounting Kits (BMK), Hanging Mounting Kits (HMK), Swivel Hanging Mounting Kits (SHMK), and Wall Mounting Kits (WMK) for Ruffneck™ heaters. The HMK is the only compatible option for the 30" and 36" heater models. In cases where heaters are located in mobile or transportable environments, such as land or offshore drilling rigs, a robust mounting structure must be supplied to endure all expected load conditions, including potential impacts from truck offloading. For these installations, the use of lock washers beneath bolt heads is recommended, and heaters may be mounted at any reasonable height above the floor.
