The Pipe Mounting Kit (PMK) is designed for use with a 12" frame and is particularly useful in buildings with insufficient structural strength to support other types of mounts. It requires a 3" (76 mm) pipe with an outer diameter of 3" (89 mm), which is not supplied with the kit. The mounting kits are constructed from steel and coated with wet-applied enamel paint. When installing the heater on a structure intended for transport, additional support must be provided during transit, with a maximum suspended weight not exceeding 300 lbs (136 kg). This kit is not suitable for the HP 30, FR 30, HP 36, FR 36, or Tandem AH series (24B fan configuration) models. While Ruffneck™ unit heaters are designed for upright and level installation, alternative positions are permissible as long as the steam inlet is above the outlet, and the core drains towards the outlet. Installation requires the use of either two or four 5/8" NC bolts that screw into internally threaded holes in the cabinet's top panel, emphasizing the need for adequate structural support. Other mounting options available for Ruffneck™ heaters include Basic Mounting Kits (BMK), Hanging Mounting Kits (HMK), Swivel Hanging Mounting Kits (SHMK), and Wall Mounting Kits (WMK). The HMK is specifically required for the 30" and 36" heater models. In applications that involve relocation or transportation, such as in land or offshore drilling rigs, it is crucial to ensure that a robust mounting structure withstands all probable load conditions, including those involving impacts from truck offloading. The use of lock washers beneath bolt heads is recommended for these installations, and heaters may be mounted at any reasonable height above floor level.
