The mounting kits are constructed from steel and finished with wet-applied enamel paint, ensuring durability. It is important to note that if the heater is installed on a structure intended for transport, additional support must be provided during transit, with a maximum suspended weight not exceeding 300 lbs (136 kg). The kit is not suitable for models HP 30, FR 30, HP 36, FR 36, or Tandem AH series (24B fan configuration). Although Ruffneck™ unit heaters are primarily designed for upright installation, they may also be installed in alternative positions, provided that for steam service, the inlet is positioned above the outlet with proper drainage. Installation requires suspension from the cabinet top using either two or four 5/8" NC bolts that fit into internally threaded holes in the cabinet top panel, necessitating adequate structural support. Various mounting kit options include basic mounting kits (BMK), hanging mounting kits (HMK), swivel hanging mounting kits (SHMK), or wall mounting kits (WMK) for Ruffneck™ heaters. In cases where structural support is insufficient, a pipe mounting kit (PMK) is recommended for safe operation. The HMK is specifically designed for the 30" and 36" heater models. Installations in environments that are relocatable, such as offshore drilling rigs, require robust mounting to endure potential load conditions, including impacts from transport. Use of lock washers beneath bolt heads is advisable in such situations. Heaters can be mounted at reasonable heights above floor level as appropriate to their intended use.
