While Ruffneck™ unit heaters should ideally be mounted in an upright and level position, alternative positions are permissible, provided that steam service installations have the inlet above the outlet and allow for proper drainage. The kit supports installation with either two or four 5/8" NC bolts, reliant on the specific model, which need to be screwed into internally threaded holes located in the cabinet's top panel. Adequate structural support is crucial, especially for applications involving transportation or relocation, such as drilling rigs, where mounting kits must endure various load conditions, including potential impacts. Recommended practices include using lock washers beneath the bolt heads during installation, with a versatility in mounting height based on heater application needs.
