The Pipe Mounting Kit (PMK) is designed for use with a 20" frame and is particularly useful in buildings with insufficient structural strength for alternative mounting types. The kit requires a 3" (76 mm) pipe with a 3" / 89 mm outside diameter (not supplied) and is constructed from steel with a wet-applied enamel paint finish. It is important to note that the suspended weight should not exceed 300 lbs (136 kg), and this kit is not suitable for models HP 30, FR 30, HP 36, FR 36, or tandem AH series (24B fan configuration). While Ruffneck™ unit heaters are optimized for upright and level installation, they can be installed in various positions as long as the inlet is above the outlet for steam service, and the bottom of the core drains toward the outlet. Installation involves suspending the unit from the cabinet top with either two or four 5/8" NC bolts, which must be securely fixed in the internally threaded holes provided. Adequate structural support is essential, and alternative mounting kits such as Basic Mounting Kits (BMK), Hanging Mounting Kits (HMK), Swivel Hanging Mounting Kits (SHMK), or Wall Mounting Kits (WMK) are also available for Ruffneck™ heaters. The HMK is specifically the only suitable kit for the 30" and 36" heater models. For applications that involve relocation or transport, such as land or offshore drilling rigs, an adequate mounting structure must be ensured to withstand all probable load conditions, including impact stresses like truck offloading. It is advisable to use lock washers beneath the bolt heads for these installations, and heaters can be mounted at any reasonable height above the floor level.
