The reducer is designed to convert a 2" male NPT pipe thread valve to a 2" hose barb, facilitating the connection of a 2" hose with a swivel ring to simplify assembly and prevent hose twisting. It is manufactured from FDA food-grade materials, specifically a strong glass coupled polypropylene, under an ISO 9000 quality management system. Each adapter is individually bagged and labeled for cleanliness and ease of identification. The CPP glass coupled polypropylene material is rated for a pressure of 150 PSI and is suitable for most chemicals typically contained in IBC totes. The thread specifications include a 2" NPS male pipe thread with an outside diameter of 59.6mm (2.35") and a thread pitch of 2.21mm (0.09") with 11.5 TPI, conforming to ANSI B1.20.1-1983. This thread type is commonly found on American IBCs from manufacturers such as Schuetz, Clawson, Greif/Sonoco, and Mauser. It is important to note that BSP fittings are compatible with NPS/NPT valves or adapters that have a diameter of 2" or smaller, applicable for plastic fittings only.
