The Proto® 1/2" drive impact socket, measuring 41 mm and featuring a 6-point design, is 2-3/8" long and is specifically engineered for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. This socket incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the flats of the fastener rather than the corners. The unique TorquePlus™ configuration employs a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design reduces fastener rounding and enhances fastener longevity, enabling users to more easily turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
