The Proto® 1/2" drive deep impact socket is designed with a 3/4" size and features a 6-point configuration, measuring 3-1/4"L. This socket is ideal for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. It incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that enables quick and easy engagement with the flat surfaces of fasteners, rather than the corners. The TorquePlus™ configuration utilizes a radius-corner design that effectively shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, thereby distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. This internal design also helps reduce fastener rounding, extends the life of fasteners, and allows users to more easily turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners. In addition, the socket size is clearly stamped on the tool for easy identification, and it includes a side locking hole for enhanced functionality.
